Typical peels use potent medical ingredients such as different types of acids, which encourage the topmost layer of damaged skin to shed, taking unwanted imperfections with it. This process signals healthy, newer cells beneath the skin to resurface and multiply, boosting collagen production and hydration in the skin. Chemical peels are great treatments for clients who wish to address skin discoloration as well as skin texture.
Studio 17 is proud to offer chemical peels from the most innovative lines in the medical aesthetics industry: SkinMedica® and SkinBetter Science.
The benefits of chemical peels include:
- Improve skin texture and tone
- Exfoliate dead skin cells and clogged debris
- Boost the absorption and results of your skincare
- Customized based on your needs
- Enhance collagen production for younger-looking skin
The depth and intensity of your chosen peel will determine your amount of downtime. There is little to no downtime for the milder peel types. Patients who receive deeper treatments will likely experience a peeling phase, redness, and sensitivity for a period of time after the procedure. While regular activity is not restricted, you should limit sun exposure and utilize a broad-spectrum sunscreen as directed by your Studio 17 aesthetician.
Chemical peels can show immediate changes to the condition of your skin; however, it typically takes until after the peeling phases are complete to see the full extent of results. Results include diminished hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, scars, lightened age spots, melasma, and overall texture and clarity improvement.
Though effects may vary, it is generally recommended to have monthly treatments for lighter or more superficial peels and annual or semi-annual treatments with deeper peel services. To achieve lasting results, your aesthetician will create a customized plan outlining your recommended product regimen and future treatments in order to maintain your new and luminous skin.
Most individuals who would like to revitalize their skin for a beautiful glow or target specific concerns such as pigmentation, melasma, or textural issues make good candidates for chemical peels. The best way to determine whether you are a candidate for chemical peels and which peel options are ideal for you is by booking a complimentary consultation with one of our experts at Studio 17.
